How to uninstall portal form a forum

hello I m using phpbb3 RC7 version. I want to install the portal 1.03. But before that I would like to know how can i uninstall the portal?

& Is there any way to make a administration controll panel for managing the portal?

Well when you install the portal, you basicly open some of the files from your forums folder an add some code.
When you want to uninstall is, just delete the code from the desired files.

1.0.3 doesnt support ACP access but with portal 1.1.0b you will get ACP access.

Is there a different ACP for portal? So that we can easily edit portal page?

well only certain items are editible in the ACP.

If you wanted to edit the mian menu links on the top left hand side of the forum.
You need to go into

Code: Select all

root/styles/your style/template/portal/blocks

an edit main_menu.html

I'm having version 1.2.2 installed. All works fine.
Now I wanted to simply uninstall the portal as explained above, reediting the files involved and removing the files being copied.
Unfortunately things are not that easy. I had a major error and locked myself out of the system. Luckily I took a backup of everything. But stil, I believe there should be a more straightforward way to uninstall a mod like this.

1. Or you write some stepped plan on how to uninstall this portal
2. Or you build it in to your system/code

But just leaving things like this not allowing everyday - non-coder - people to do an uninstall is very unprofessional and makes me look for some other solutions on the internet!
